Byron Bay hot property includes ten vacant blocks of land on Belongil Beach Byron are back on the market. The valuable parcel of land was being offered up in one piece for a while with a price tag of $40 million. But now the vacant ranging in size from 600 – 1200 M2, between Border and Kendall Streets, and are close be almost ‘absolute beachfront”. Graham Dunn is now listing them thru his own agency as single sales and the larger blocks have a price tag of $3 million plus.
Happy Hauses in Belongil
The above gives you an indication of where Belongil Beach is heading in popularity. Planned retreat, threat of climate change and sea rises do not seem to stem the demand. One company benefiting from the empty blocks in Belongil is Happy Haus. This Brisbane based prefab housing company have been able to blend prefab speed and simplicity with quality architecture and design. The prefab pavilion style has suited the demountable requirement at Belongil, which still requires a demountable construction for approval.

Byron is attracting more members of the BRW Rich List every year. (FYI – the BRW is the Business Review Weekly and they publish the bios of the richest 200 people in Australia). Tony Quinn is on the list and he and his wife Christina have made an off-market purchase of a house on 530 M2 just off Clarkes Beach for $3.4M. They currently live in Main Beach, Gold Coast. Tony Quin made his first fortune with a pet food business that he sold for $410M. He then purchased iconic Aussie confectionery brand Darrell Lea for $25M, turned it around and resold it for $200M. The couple also spend time in New Zealand where they own a large estate with plans for a residential development, golf course and motor race tracks.

Jon Ferris of INXS has been looking to buy in this area for some time. Jon Ferris is the drummer of the iconic globally successful rock band INXS. He is also its principal songwriter, partnering with the now deceased, Michael Hutchence. Ferris, and his wife Kerry have two children. They listed their Queens Park house in Sydney, opposite Centennial Park, which is selling for around $5M. They purchased a rural property in the Byron hinterland last year.

He told me that 90% of his clients from Unique have stayed with him and have migrated with him. One of those Byron hot property listings is this 4 bed 3 bath house on 17 acres looking for $1.55M. Tintenbar is a good bet and I promote it with my clients as the new highway makes it less than 30 minutes to the shops and beaches of Byron.

Good old “Bruns” is experiencing another rush of love and passion. The popularity of this town keeps going from strength to strength and keeps it in the Byron hot property news. It seems once it gets in your blood you cant be anywhere else. 8 Old Pac Highway is a big block with two houses on it and has some development or subdivision potential. Tallowood land release
After much delay, stage 4B of Tallowood estate is about to be released. The Mullumbimby subdivision has proved popular and has a quick take up rate. This stage on Corrella Court will be no exception and I expect the whole 18 blocks will be snapped up within the first few days.
