I have been writing this newsletter for over 15 years now. If you are a regular reader, thank you for your support and interest. As you have noticed, I do not always strictly cover property and local real estate news. I also share about projects, events, and activities that are close to my heart and sources of passion.
Over the years, I’ve been involved with many community projects, including The Uncle Project, The Big Picture, NRCF, Creative Mullumbimby, and more. This time, I’m excited to turn my attention to something new, and as a result, this newsletter will be changing its focus. I wanted to let you know well in advance.
New Project
My wife and I are working on an initiative called What The Future! WTF is a PhD research and impact documentary film project that explores the inner capacities enabling community cohesion in a time of eco-social crisis.
My wife, Susanna Carman, is a Strategic Designer doing her PhD on community thriving amid climate change through the University of Technology Sydney. Before I became a buyer’s agent in Byron Bay, I spent 25 years as a TV documentary producer, delivering over 13 hours of international TV programming. I also have a background and interest in alternative housing models, planning, and community. We have come together to work on this idea that we both consider valuable — we hope you do too.
Stay Tuned For More
In next month’s issue, I will share more about the project and ways you can get involved, including visiting the website and/or joining your preferred social platforms to stay engaged. For now though, I wanted to let you know that my newsletter writing attention will begin to redirect toward What The Future! in the months and years ahead, which will have its own newsletter.
This will mean that I will be winding down the Byron Property Search Newsletter. However, I still have enthusiasm and passion for continuing my part-time role as a Buyer’s Agent and Vendor Advocate, so I will still have time for that.
I know some of you will miss the BPS newsletter. Still, others will be enthusiastic about joining my new endeavour, given how purposeful and prescient it is for our Byron community and all regional areas around Australia affected by climate change.
Thanks again for all of your support over the years. I look forward to sharing this next writing chapter with you all. Stay tuned for more info about What The Future! in next month’s issue.
