1247 Myocum Road, Myocum
Local identity and philanthropists, Christopher and Lynda Dean, are taking a bold approach to help solve the housing crisis. This small acreage across the road from the Mullumbimby Gold Course on the corner of Coolamon Scenic Drive is hoping for council approval for what can be called rural dual occupancy, pavilion style, extended dwellings.
Working with architect David Brown, the team is looking at building two micro village clusters. Each will include 11 single and double, semi-self-contained bedroom units, plus services and a community house. Mr. Brown contends that the DA is fully within code and zoning compliance. This will be an interesting test case to see just how far councilors are ready to bend to provide much-needed housing.
