BB Best over 10 years
According to a recent analysis by PropTrack, Byron Bay was the top performer in regional Australia for the past 10 years. Median home prices grew 361% from 2013, from A$650,000 to A$3 million. Bright in Victoria took the No. 2 spot with 256.6% median home price growth over the decade (from A$362,500 to A$1.292 million). The rule of thumb in real estate was that property prices would double every nine years. For a house price to more than triple in ten years is quite unusual.
Interestingly, the whole of Northern Rivers was a great place to buy 10 years ago. The Byron suburb of Suffolk Park was third at 256.1% (from A$590,000 to A$2.1 million) and Kingscliff came in 5th with a 236% increase.
