Block Judge buys in Suffolk
A judge on Ch 9’s The Block TV show, and interior designer Darren Palmer has now bought in the Bay. He and his partner, cosmetics businessman Olivier Duvillard have purchased in Suffolk Park.
They’ve opted for the quieter Suffolk Park over the bustling town, spending $3.85 million on a chic home just 100 metres from Tallow Beach. The house features a saltwater pool, overlooking an entertaining space in tropical gardens, the two-level home sits on 720 sqm. It backs onto bushland, with a path to the beach from the back gate.
Palmer has joined fellow Block judge, Shelley Craft, who has been a Byron resident for some time. She is the partner of local real estate agent Christain Sergiacomi who runs Pacifico Property. Brad Canfield is also an agent at Pacifico and was a past contestant on the TV show.
But it was not a complete in-house production. The home Palmer purchased was sold through McGrath Byron Bay agents Ian Daniels and Susan Whyte. Also, it looks like the Block series planned for Byron and shot in Sunrise Beach is not to be. Was it because of the rising negative sentiment of reality TV shows being shot here? Or was it the cost of the real estate blowing the production budget? No, it sems they couldn’t get enough adjoining neighbours to sell.
