Byron Shire’s newest celebrity resident is film animation pioneer Zarich Nalbandian. In the 1990s, he founded and developed Animal Logic in Sydney and has provided CGI animation sequences for successful films like Happy Feet, The Matrix, and Moulin Rouge. After the recent sale of Animal Logic to Netflix for $120 million, Nelbandian and his wife Ping have been on a property-purchasing binge.
The couple have settled cash on NOX, a one-acre luxury home overlooking Coopers Shoot. The five-bedroom includes all the usual mod cons built by the previous owners, Jacqui Pearce and husband, Dan Collins. It was a good project for the couple, purchasing the land for $2.3 mil in 2020. Will Phillips from Byron McGrath was the listing agent with a price guide of $12 mil.
