Jonson St Dev Site Sells
Byron Bay Backpackers at 116 – 118 Jonson St Byron Bay has sold. The 4,287 sqm site has been family held for 37 years and was sold with no development approvals intact. It achieved a price of $18.55 mil with John Musca and Elliott O’Shea from JLL as the listing agent.
The next-door Mercato complex is already completed. It holds the new revamped Woolworths and the Palace Cinema. Next-door to that, the old Woolworths site to the north is under an EOI process and with plans for a hotel, and retail complex.
The next one is 90-96 Jonson Street. This site currently includes The Cellar Liquor Store, O’shushi, and other retail outlets. The 5,390 M2 block sold last March 2020 and settles on March 2021. The price is not yet public but apparently a lot more than the Backpacker sale as it had DA approvals and advantageous B2 zoning in place.
