$uffolk $hack 4 $ale
A beachside council-run caravan park removable home is on the market for $750,000. These prefab dwellings just sell with a lease and there is rental on the land as well as the purchase price for the dwelling. They usually trade hands for around $250-350K. The story has made the news and an ABC online article cites it as another example of the “market gone mad.”
Councillor Michael Lyon said current caravan park legislation was designed to allow for affordable housing. “If someone’s got that much money to spend on a moveable dwelling, they certainly shouldn’t be benefiting from the affordable fees that you get from living in a caravan park. It’s not right, but unfortunately, that is the way the legislation is.”
