World’s Most Expensive Pool
Tabloid newspapers went a bit feral in September with a listing that became known as The World’s Most Expensive Pool. The small acreage at 126 Old Byron Bay Road, Newrybar, features a demolished house and an intact pool. The owner had initially planned to build a new home on the two-acre site but decided to put it on the market instead. Apparently, the agent from First National REA was fielding calls from journos trying to fill column inches with stories about the pool alone being listed at $4.2-$4.6 million. The pool boasts extensive coastal views from Lennox Head to Broken Heads and is currently for sale for over $4 million.
